Hi, I’m Joy—founder of Mae Candle Co.

This little company was born during one of the most tender seasons of my life. I was walking through change, healing, and navigating a lot of unknowns. In the quiet moments, I kept coming back to the people and memories that shaped me—especially my grandparents, Milton and Ella.

The name MAE stands for Milton And Ella, and it also happens to be my grandmother’s middle name. She was grace-filled and steady, with the softest heart. My grandfather was gentle and kind. Together, their legacy lives on in every candle I make.

Before she passed, my grandmother gifted me a mug that simply said, “Enjoy life.” It’s something she always told me growing up. Those two words have stayed with me—through grief, growth, motherhood, and rebuilding.

Mae Candle Co. was truly founded on that reminder: Enjoy life. Light a candle. Recreate memories.
That’s our heartbeat.

Each candle is hand-poured in small batches using clean, simple ingredients: soy wax, phthalate-free fragrance, and natural wood wicks. I often pour into vintage mugs and glassware—pieces that feel like something your grandmother might have kept on her shelf. Every one is made to be a keepsake, a comfort, and a quiet invitation to slow down.

I want these candles to be part of your everyday moments—whether you're resetting after a long day, starting a new chapter, or just sitting in stillness with your thoughts and a warm light nearby.
